Split Your 3dsmax Objects by Material IDs

This handy tool can help you by baking textures or exporting objects to different formats.

icon_split_by_matid.gif How it works:
Just select the Object you want to split and run the script.

What it do:
It takes the object, reads out the multimaterial count and copy the faces for each matid to a new object and put the correct material to the Object.
Naming will be [originalname]_MatID# The original Object will be hidden by the script.

Important note:
It will only split object with multisub materials and it will only generate objects from the materiallist - So when you do not apply materialID correctly you will miss some faces.

Here is the script download r01
have fun!
